WHO ARE WE?

Nutrition Without Borders, a duly accredited Canadian charitable organization, is composed of individuals concerned with food issues who wish to make an impact where it really counts. Because food insecurity creates all sorts of consequences on health and a barrier to development, Nutrition Without Borders caters to the needs of these vulnerable groups, both in Quebec and abroad.

LET'S END HUNGER TOGETHER!

Food insecurity is on the rise ! Compared to 2018, 10 million people and nearly 60 million in five years are known to be struggling with food insecurity.

Before the COVID-19 crisis, 690 million people in 2019 were already living in hunger. Since the pandemic, 130 million more could fall into chronic hunger. In Africa, these numbers have increased the most.

59% of the population in West Africa cannot afford adequate and nutritious food.

If this trend continues, by 2030, Africa will be home to more than half of the world’s hungry people.

1 in 3 children is chronically malnourished in developing countries.

Malnutrition in children causes great physical and psychological suffering, resulting in stunted growth, decreased life expectancy and health problems. Each year, malnutrition is the cause of 50% of deaths in children under 5 years old and several health problems in adults.
